The one reason I would buy a Nikon DSLR over a Canon

Ok, so the heading may be a little misleading - but it got your attention right?
Recently I purchased some replacement lens caps for my L Series Canon lenses - not that the OEM lenscaps had anything wrong with them as such, rather that it would seem my fingers are larger than your average Japanese Canon engineer's.
Removing the lens caps with their edge-grips (where you need to squeeze two opposite edges of the lens cap inward) is easy enough... unless you have a lens hood on. In which case it can become rather fiddly - particularly annoying when you want to quickly rip it off to capture that moment.
After noticing the mechanism on a friend's Nikon lens (yes, it's true... Canon and Nikon owners can be friends) where you squeeze the two parts together near the centre of the lens to unlock the lens cap, I figured this was a preferable option. There was of course no way I was about to put a Nikon branded lens cap on my trusty Canon L Series lenses though!
A quick bit of "googling", and over to eBay I went, only to find a multitude of aftermarket (albeit often marked as "genuine") Canon branded lens caps, with a centre squeeze mechanism.
The photos above illustrate the difference betweeen the old and the new lens caps... not drastic, but certainly a lot quicker (although I'm sure I'll be getting rid of the random piece of string they seem to come with).
